Homespun Bazaar is back again for its second year. After the success of last year’s festival, this year promises to be even bigger and better, with a selection of live music, market stalls, and family events taking over Billabong Park in Kooralbyn this Saturday, 29 September. To top it all off, all proceeds from the $2 entry fee will go towards charity Eboneigh’s Battle, to help the family of a young, local girl with Sticklers Syndrome.
You’d be silly not to get behind this great event, and if you’re concerned about getting bored during the drive to Kooralbyn, don’t sweat it – we’ve put together a rockin’ Homespun Bazaar Roadtrip Playlist featuring some festival favourites to keep you entertained.
- Dave Is A Spy ‘Tindersoul’
Indie rock trio Dave Is A Spy will be returning to Homespun this year, bringing an upbeat energetic show, and plenty of tongue-in-cheek tunes. Their latest single Tindersoul recently reached number 1 on the triple j Unearthed charts, and is a great song to bop along to in the car.
- Byron Short & The Sunset Junkies ‘Tunica’
Byron Short & The Sunset Junkies will be bringing their smooth blues rock attitude to Homespun this year. Tunica is a punchy track with blues spirit, inspired by the American South. Add this song to your playlist for the long, windy roadtrip, and imagine you’re driving through the streets of a small Mississippi town.
- Smoking Martha ‘Say You’re Mine’
Smoking Martha’s latest single Say You’re Mine features strong riffs and sultry vocals. The catchy song packs a punch, and gives the perfect vibe for screaming along a highway with your friends, on the way to see the band.
- The Flame Fields ‘Getaway Train’
Getaway Train is a fast-paced, unabashed rock song, with screaming vocals and punching drums. All of these elements combine to make it a fantastic driving song, which is sure to make you feel the urge to push down hard on the accelerator.
- Bridget O’Shannessy ‘He Doesn’t Know’
Bridget O’Shannessy is a country artist not to be missed, and the effortless catchiness of He Doesn’t Know is no exception. Definitely a great song to listen to while driving through the roads of rural Australia on your way to this year’s Homespun Bazaar.
